I purchased my house in beachwood in June 2008. Since then (actually, not even then), Cleveland Water representatives never had the time to come and look at the meter until October 2010. But even then, they did not use this information for their bill. On April 14, they read the meter again and they charge the difference between the reading and thy coocked up estimates (15.3 MCF) in one billing period. Result $1,764
Of course, they never thought to spread the difference over two years, that would be toooo clever. And of course less lucrative. I would have paid part of it at 2008 prices, a large part of if at the lower tarif (<1 MCF per billing period), and I would have paid less NEORSD service during the summmer.
More to come

It has been 6 months since we sold our grandmothers house and moved her into assisted living. All of the utility companies with the exception of the Water company provided final bills within 10 days. After 6 months and at least 30 phone calls to the Cleveland Water company customer service as well as 3 calls to the manager of customer service WE STILL DO NOT HAVE A FINAL BILL. Escrow is holding $400 until the final $9.00 water bill is paid. Yes, $9! They can tell me how much the bill is, but can't get it mailed out. I asked if I can come down and pick it up, they said NO. Their wonderful NEW on line system that cost millions does not allow you to view or print your bill. WHAT? What on line billing system does not allow you to view your bill?
Clevland Division of Water reports to NO governing body and does what they want to. They are a total joke as most of the people working there are more suited to work at McDonalds.
