I hope that I am not jinxing myself here, but after 6 months, numerous hours {30+} of personal time emailing, writing, and calling the City Of Cleveland's Division Of Water to get my little 700% water bill increase resolved, it has been.
So, I guess I'll shut down this website.
Kidding.
I will not shut it down until all 2,000+ Cuyahoga County residents have received their adjustments...
Let's keep this going! Please let me know when your bills have been resolved.
One more thing; Thank you Cleveland media for helping get the story out!
Carleen,
Sorry to hear that you are having quite the "issue" with the water dept. Here's what to do;
When the recording comes on asking if you would like to leave a message, leave it. They got back to me.

i am so mad! the water company claims i owed 600.00 for my bill. with two people living here its alittle crazy. they found a faulty meter reading 20 units over then what the inside meter was reading. they then proceeded to take the money out of my account claiming i signed up for ezpay. they will not return my calls. i just spent 1hr. on the phone just for a recording to come on and inform me the line was faulty. are you kidding me? does anyone know what to do?

I live alone in South Euclid. I just opened a bill for $975.89 informing me that I am delinquent. Whenever I receive a utility bill, I open it, record the amount on an excel spreadsheet I use to track my usage, pay the bill and then shred the rest. Maybe shredding wasn't such a great idea now since I have no proof of past bills except my spreadsheet and that's not proof.
I realized when looking at my spreadsheet, they haven't billed me since last summer. I didn't even notice since we're billed quarterly. That last bill was for a total of $58 for sewage and water combined.
I've been on hold with customer service for half an hour now. If you have advice, PLEASE SHARE IT.

A year ago my bill was $80 and last two bills were $450 and now $500. I have had meter checked, checked for leaks and all is ok. Dealing with the water company so far has been a nightmare. Anyone have a name of someone to contact or any suggestions?

I'm in University Hts. My Water bill went from avg. $40/month every quarter to $256 and now to $520. I called to complain, when the customer service guy told me the last bill. I just laughed and told him to shut it off, I'm sending you $40.
He understands the issue, lets hope they can adjust it.
